Lailatul Qadr (the Night of Power or Destiny,The Night of Excellence) is one of the blissful nights.

Qadr means honour and dignity. Lailatul Qadr means the night of honour and dignity. The Lailatul Qadr is known as the night of excellence. This night is also known as Shab-e-Qadr.
Muslims believe that the first verses of the Quran were revealed to Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) by the angel Jibril in the night of Lailatul Qadr when prophet (pbuh) was in prayer in the cave of Hira.
The reward of worship on this night is better than a thousand months of worship. The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said: “The person who offered prayers to Allah in the night of Dignity with faith and with hope of reward from Allah, all his past sins have been forgiven.” (Bukhaari)
In the holy Quran Allah said, “The night of Al-Qadr (decree) is better than a thousand months.” (Surah Al-Qadr: 3)
In thie night of Lailatul Qadr by the permission of their Lord the angels and the Spirit descend therein with all decrees.
In the holy Quran their is no specific date of Lailatul Qadr. Lailatul Qadr is to be found in the last ten nights of the holy month of Ramadan. Hazrat Aa’ishah radhiyallahu anhaa narrates that the Messenger of Allah Muhammad (pbuh) said, ‘Seek the night of Dignity in the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadhan’.(Bukhaari).
Though odd nights the reference is made to the 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th, 29th night of the month of Ramadhan, but in Sumatra, Morocco, Bangladesh and Pakistan it is celebrated on 27th Ramadan.
